Almost everyone I know wants to make happiness their top priority.
Purvé Donut Stop is one company I’m proud to support because happiness is at the core of their business philosophy.
You can’t help but smile when you walk into the shop and see the colorful life-size paintings of donuts, unicorns and rainbows, then read the menu full of kooky—but tasty—creations such as “Hulk Smash,” a donut topped with mint glazed and crushed Oreos, or “Unicorn Butt Sneeze,” with a coating of lemon glaze and Fruity Pebbles cereal.
Founders Brion Zablan and Nick Cornford were bartenders who tired of their up-all-night jobs and wanted to create an enterprise they could call their own. Although they had no baking experience, they came up with a master recipe for cake donuts and started tweaking it until they came up with a donut that’s light, non-greasy, moist on the inside and crisp on the outside.
Then it came time to add the fun, with a rainbow’s assortment of glazes and toppings.
Customers can read Purvé as meaning “to provide food and drink,” or in the bigger picture, “to spread an idea or point of view.”
I like the idea of spreading happiness and Purvé has become a go-to spot when I want to brighten someone’s day with a box of edible sunshine.
I love to see the smiles that a humble donut can bring .
